World championships song & Dance challenge
With That Bridge We Build Today, the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2026 have a soundtrack that perfectly matches the event. The song is performed by Evie van der Heijden, a student at Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam, and is all about connection, collaboration and the moment when everything comes together.
The song of course comes with its very own Dance Challenge. We are challenging groups, dance clubs, and friends’ teams from all across the Netherlands to create their own choreography to the official World Championships song. Show us your energy, creativity, and style – and who knows, you might see your dance featured on our official channels!
Building Bridges
From October 17 to 25, 2026, the iconic Rotterdam Ahoy transforms into the global arena for the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. With roaring crowds, vibrant fan zones, and the world’s top gymnasts on the floor, this will be a championship like no other. As athletes chase Olympic dreams and national pride, Rotterdam sets the stage for connection – between generations, cultures, and disciplines.
Under the theme Building Bridges, the event becomes more than competition. It celebrates unity between people, generations, and cultures. The theme will run through everything: from elite sport in Ahoy to grassroots activities across the city, from side-events to campaigns using the slogan #BuildingBridges.

Former elite sports acrobats and now professional performers, Rik & Aimée know how to turn top-level sport into an unforgettable show.
After winning Holland’s Got Talent in 2023, they bring their experience, creativity and energy to Rotterdam.
Together with our gymnasts, they’re creating spectacular Opening Shows combining gymnastics, acrobatics and entertainment.

🤸♀️ Choreographer: Jorge Antonio Fujizaki
Jorge Antonio Fujizaki is a Japanese-Brazilian choreographer and movement director working across film, television, theatre and fashion. His work combines storytelling, visual precision and movement.
From working with artists like Sabrina Carpenter, P!NK and Kylie Minogue to productions such as Wicked and The King and I, Jorge brings a wealth of experience and creativity to Rotterdam.
Now, he’s bringing his vision to the World Championships to create unforgettable Opening Shows. ✨
